Grace Community Education Center
The Grace Community Education Centre (GCEC) is a primary school that provides free quality education, daily food and clothing to children of the Njathaini (Ngomongo) Village of Nairobi, Kenya. The school cares for 115 children, ranging from age 3 to grade 5.
Without the GCEC school, these children would live each day on the streets of the village, without proper nutrition, education, clothing or care. They would be left on their own to survive in a village teeming with sexual abuse, drugs, voodoo and witchcraft. With GCEC, we can educate the next generation in a safe & loving environment, provide food and basic healthcare, and change their lives through the words and love of Jesus Christ.
GCEC USA
After meeting Grace founder Pastor Girum Haile in 2008, GCEC USA partnered with him in his vision for the school and the Njathaini village. Our involvement includes hands-on trips to the village, education, training, healthcare, economic and job development, as well as raising funds for the school to operate.
Our shared dream with Pastor Girum is to break the generational cycle of accepted evils in this village by eventually transforming this primary school into a full boarding school. GCEC USA was organized to help realize this dream.
